Insurance fraud investigations conducted by the Prosecutor's Office include misrepresentations to law enforcement and/or insurance carriers by persons for personal gain. This, at the expense of insurance companies and the community at large when we are forced to pay higher premiums. Falsely reporting a car stolen for insurance proceeds, presenting fraudulent insurance cards and aritficially inflating the value of an insurance claim are just some of the criminal acts that the unit would investigate and potentially prosecute.
Suspected insurance fraud may be reported to the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office tip-line at (609)465-LEAD (5323) or to the New Jersey Office of Insurance Fraud Prosecutor at (877)533-7283.
Remember, insurance fraud is a serious crime, so don't do it and don't tolerate it!
