Pedestrian Involved in Automobile Accident Dies

Cape May Court House, New Jersey – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Chief Jay Prettyman of the Ocean City Police Department announce the pedestrian involved in the motor vehicle accident at 26th and West Avenues has died as a result of her injuries.

On August 11, 2021, at approximately 8:45 PM, a 21 year old female pedestrian, identified as Katherine Lux of New Hope, P A, was struck by a motor vehicle driven by Wilfredo Latimer, 44 years old, of Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Lux was initially transported to the Shore Medical Center and then transferred to the AtlanticCare Regional Medical Center – City Division where she regretfully died on the afternoon of August 13, 2021. On Sunday, August 15, 2021, an autopsy was completed by the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. The preliminary investigation has revealed Lux died as a result of her injuries sustained from the accident.

According to Prosecutor Sutherland, the full circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
