Cape May Court House, New Jersey – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Lower Township Police Chief William Mastriana announce the ongoing investigation into the death of Caroline Warsinski, a 31 year old female, from Lower Township.
On April 9, 2020, Warsinski was reported missing to the Lower Township Police Department. The Lower Township Police Detective Bureau and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit immediately initiated an investigation into the circumstances of the missing person report.
On April 12, 2020, police received a call from a passer-by stating he had found the body of a female in the marsh in the Lower Township section of Sunset Lake. Members of the New Jersey State Police Marine Bureau, Lower Township Police Department, and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office responded and recovered the body.
On April 13, 2020, the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy and the female was subsequently identified as Caroline Warsinski. According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, the autopsy results are pending at this time.
