Animal Cruelty Investigation

Cape May Court House, New Jersey – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland announces an animal cruelty investigation being conducted in the Upper Township section of Cape May County.

On Thursday, February 7, 2018, at approximately 10:18 AM employees from the Upper Township Public Works found a dead dog in a trash can in the area of Cove and Harbor Roads in Beesleys Point. The dog is white with tan patches, approximately a 35-40 pound female, and may be a Corgi-Terrier or Cattle Dog mix.

Shore Animal Control responded and took custody of the deceased animal and an investigation has been initiated by Detectives from the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office to determine if a crime has taken place relating to the death of this dog.
