Cape May Court House, New Jersey – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Lower Township Police Chief William Mastriana announce the Grand Jury indictment of Deshyamma R. Dalton, Michael Woods Jr., and Jeramy J. Thompson-Pierce for First Degree Attempted Murder, Robbery, and other related charges.
According to Prosecutor Sutherland, today’s indictment was the result of an investigation into a violent home invasion that occurred on the morning of October 17, 2018 on Old Mill Road in the North Cape May section of Lower Township. Deshyamma R. Dalton, Michael Woods Jr., and Jeramy Thompson-Pierce were indicted by a Cape May County Grand Jury on the following charges: Attempted Murder, a crime of the first degree, Armed Robbery, a crime of the first degree; Conspiracy, a crime of the second degree; Burglary a crime of the second degree; Criminal Restraint, a crime of the third degree; Terroristic Threats, a crime of the third degree; Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, a crime of the second degree; and Theft, a crime of the third degree.*
Prosecutor Sutherland stated individuals charged with first degree crimes can be sentenced from 10 to 20 years in New Jersey State Prison. Second degree crimes can carry a sentence of 5 to 10 years and individuals charged with third degree crimes can be sentenced to 3 to 5 years in State prison. Prosecutor Sutherland commends all of the law enforcement agencies who were involved in this investigation and First Assistant Prosecutor Robert Johnson who is prosecuting the case.
