Arrest Made in Prostitution Investigation

Cape May Court House, New Jersey – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Acting Chief Jay Prettyman of the Ocean City Police Department announce the arrest of Grace Li on prostitution related charges.

In July of 2018 the Ocean City Police Department received information regarding alleged prostitution occurring at the L&G Spa located in the 500 block of East 9th Street in Ocean City. An investigation was initiated by Detectives from the Ocean City Police Department, Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations, (HSI). The investigation revealed customers could purchase sexual acts from females inside the business.

As a result of the investigation, on December 13, 2018, a Court authorized search warrant was executed at the L&G Spa and Grace Li, a 61 year old female from the 500 block of 9th Street, Ocean City was charged with managing a house of prostitution, a crime of the third degree.* Li was processed and released with a summons pending Court Proceedings.

Prosecutor Sutherland advises persons convicted of a third degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of 3 to 5 years in New Jersey State Prison.
Prosecutor Sutherland advises this is an on-going investigation and additional charges may be pending.
