Multi Alarm Structure Fire in Sea Isle City

Cape May Court House, New Jersey – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Sea Isle City Police Chief Thomas McQuillen are advising the public of a joint investigation being conducted into a multi alarm structure fire that is ongoing at 29 54th Street in Sea Isle City, NJ.

The fire quickly became a multi alarm causing damage to properties located on either side. Two residents of 29 54th were transported to the hospital with burns and smoke inhalation. At this time an additional family member, an elderly female, is unaccounted for.

According to Prosecutor Sutherland, Detectives from the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Sea Isle City Police Department, and members of the Cape May County Fire Marshalls Office are still investigating the cause and origin of this fire which has not been determined yet.

Chief McQuillen is asking the public to avoid the area in order to allow emergency personnel to continue working.
